WHO WE ARE
Our Mission
Helping people
draw closer to Christ.
Peyton S. Gray
Senior Pastor
Pastor Peyton Sylvester Gray began his new-life journey when he accepted Jesus Christ as his Lord and Savior at the age of 15. This was a life-changing experience as it began the journey to a life of service, prophecy, and biblical teaching. At this time, Peyton was living in a foster home and attended a Baptist church with his foster parents. At 17, Peyton came to Evangel Temple with a friend. At this point, a seed was planted at Evangel Temple that began to grow inside of him. It wasn’t until his sophomore year in college, though, that he began to attend regularly. He became an official member of Evangel Temple in 1986.
Peyton was ordained a Minister in 1988 by Bishop Don Meares and was first declared a prophet the same year, with the Holy Spirit confirming his prophetic gift through the public validation of Bishop Don Meares. In 1998, Peyton joined the full-time staff at Evangel Cathedral and was later ordained an Elder in 2005. He spent 25 years ministering locally and nationally at church and conferences. His responsibilities included oversight of several ministries (youth, marriage, education, transportation), artist relations for the church’s annual theatrical productions (Christmas Celebration, Easter), and instructing a number of classes in the Central Bible School.
In April 2014, Pastor Peyton launched 4Him Covenant Church, a ministry led by the Spirit of Christ, dedicated to helping people develop a close relationship with God in their daily lives. Pastor Peyton is the husband of Martha Gray and they are the proud parents of Peyton IV, Jared, and Michael.
Our Vision
Equipping people to
live a successful life
for the glory of God.

Articles of Faith
The doctrines and beliefs of 4Him Covenant Church
The Bible. We believe in the verbal inspiration of the sixty-six books of the Bible in its original writings, and that it is without error and is the sole authority in all matters and practice.
The Bible. We believe in the verbal inspiration of the sixty-six books of the Bible in its original writings, and that it is without error and is the sole authority in all matters and practice.
The Holy Trinity. We believe there is only one true God, existing in three persons: Father, Son, and Holy Spirit. These three are co-equal from all eternity, each with distinct personalities but of one essence.
Sin. We believe that Adam was created without sin, but fell by disobedience, and thus the whole race of man fell, and is by nature spiritually dead and lost.
Salvation. We believe that a soul is saved (made alive) when Christ is accepted as Savior and Lord, and the Holy Spirit imparts eternal life.
Holy Spirit. We believe in the person and work of the Holy Spirit; which includes conviction of sin, regeneration of sinners, and indwelling the believers. We therefore believe that it is the plan of God for each believer to walk after the Spirit and not fulfill the lusts of the flesh.
The Virgin Birth. We believe that Jesus Christ is the Son of God: co-existent with the Father and the Holy Spirit; and that He came to the world, born of a virgin, shed His blood on Calvary's cross as a vicarious substitute for all sin; that He was buried and rose again bodily on the third day; and ascended to the right Hand of God, the Father.
Tithes and Offerings. We believe that tithes and offerings are God’s way to support the work of the ministry (church).
Water Baptism. We believe in the immersion of the believer in water to signify Christ's death, burial, and resurrection, and the believer's identification with Him. Water Baptism constitutes one of the two ordinances of the church.
Holy Communion (The Lord's Supper). Holy Communion is a memorial of Christ's once-for-all sacrifice and a picture of our fellowship with Him. Holy Communion constitutes the other of the two ordinances of the church.
The Church. We believe that a New Testament church is a group of baptized believers, united for Christ's purpose and the knowledge and spread of the gospel – including world-wide missions. We believe that the church is to be completely independent, with no other person, group, or body having any control whatsoever over the church.
Final Things. We believe in the rapture of the church; in the bodily resurrection of the righteous dead at His coming; in an endless heaven for all redeemed; in the eternal preservation of saints; and in an endless punishment for the lost.
Sexual Morality. We believe that God has commanded that no intimate sexual activity be engaged outside of a marriage between a man and a woman. We also believe that any form of homosexuality, lesbianism, bisexuality, bestiality, incest, fornication, adultery, and pornography are sinful perversions of God's gift of sex.
Marriage. We believe that the only legitimate marriage is the joining of one man and one woman. (Gen. 2:24; Rom. 7:2; 1 Cor. 7:10; Eph. 5:22-23). Be it therefore known that this church body will not receive into its' membership marriages of the same sex, whether male or female.
Equality. We believe that men and women are spiritually equal before God, and therefore both men and women are eligible to assume the office of pastor, elder, minister or deacon.
Missions Support. We hereby covenant together that when the financial state of the church is such as it would be feasible, the tithe (10%) of the gross receipts of this church will be prayerfully given for support to worthy missions, so designated by the church.
